Work Comp Expertise
Dr. David Fletcher has been practicing Occupational Medicine for more than 35 years. In private practice, Dr. Fletcher not only designs occupational safety programs in a variety of industries, he specializes in the treatment of a variety of Work Comp injuries and illnesses so he has extensive experience in determining the most effective treatment for severe injuries soon after they occur. This experience makes him highly qualified to review the medical records and/or exam a patient to develop an expert medical opinion of what went wrong and why.
Most importantly, Dr. Fletcher’s unwavering dedication to his Workers’ Compensation injury patients represents a bond that is rarely seen today. He routinely works nights, weekends, and holidays in order to ensure that his patients receive expedited care in an industry fraught with patient barriers to appropriate medical treatment. Indeed, Dr. Fletcher has been at the forefront of championing change, specifically aimed at improving the patient care landscape and fast-tracking an injured worker’s return to duty, within the Illinois Worker’s Compensation arena.
Why Dr. Fletcher?
Through formulating a hub-and-spoke network with ancillary referral specialists, Dr. Fletcher is frequently able to do the extraordinary, more often than not scheduling applicable critical-care patients for surgery within 24 hours of his initial medical intervention. His close-knit relationships with orthopedic and spine surgeons and pain management specialists allow him to assume a “gatekeeper” patient care role, with the over-arching goal of returning the patient to work as quickly as possible. Too often, patients can get lost within the system, which results in patients failing to receive the care they need, while exponentially increasing Workers’ Compensation costs. Dr. Fletcher’s methodology consists of precautions to prevent such instances from occurring.
Dr. Fletcher’s written and oral testimonies have provided a factual basis for interpreting cases that involve work comp injuries or illnesses including incidents like falls, overexertion, respiratory, object strikes or motor vehicle accidents.
